Kristin Abbott passes endless hours at her drawing table looking out the window, daydreaming and wondering what it would be like to ride a hippo down the Zambezi River, fish with a cormorant or leap from mountain top to mountain top in Peru. Luckily she has the opportunity to draw and paint some of her imaginary adventures which is every bit as delightful as thinking them up. She has created many illustrations for children's libraries, hospitals and educational institutions and her work has been published in educational readers, magazine stories, book covers and advertisements. A Moment of Quiet is Nothing to Fear is her second independent picture book. She lives in Palo Alto with her husband and three children. Kristin is a graduate Stanford University where she majored in American Studies and of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she majored in Illustration. www.abbottillustration.com
